R407
R407C - is an HFC refrigerant replacement for R-22 in positive displacement systems such as new or existing residential and commercial air-conditioners and heat pumps. Suva® 407C offers similar performance to R-22 and can be used to retrofit existing R-22 air-conditioning systems. Suva® 407C can also be used to replace R-502 for some existing medium-temperature applications with evaporator temperatures above +20°F (-7°C).
R407C is a commonly used refrigerant for air conditioning and comfort heating heat pumps. R407C is a mixed, zeotropic, refrigerant consisting of 3 HFC components: R32, R125 and R134a in the proportions 23%/25%/52% by weight (a ± 2% tolerance is allowed for each of the components). Systems which use R407C normally have compressors charged with a POE (polyolester) lubricant. Servicing with R-407C should not be a significant issue in most systems provided the guidelines given below are followed.
